Awesome Visit To Amboli Ghat And Waterfalls : Travel Story

Amboli Ghat

Hey guys, I am here again to describe one more Travel Story. Awesome visit to Amboli Ghat and waterfalls. After reaching Goa I was planned to visit Dudhsagar Waterfall but road was not good and we are with family so we cancelled that plan from half way. Next day I planned to visit my next destination Amboli Ghat because I had heard lot of things about Amboli Ghat but this time just me and my cousin brother because that route is risky too in rains for family outing.

Amboli is around 150Kms from Madgao, Goa. Amboli is a hill station in south Maharashtra, lies in the Sahayadri Hills of Western India; one of the world's "Eco Hot-Spots" and it therefore abounds in a variety of fairly unique flora and fauna. We woke early and left home by 6 in morning in a car. As it was early morning, traffic was not there on the roads. We were running with 80 to 90 KmpH speed. After we crossed 30Kms distance that is after Panaji heavy rains started, then we slowed down little bit. In between we had breakfast after crossing Goa border (i.e village called Bandha). Rain was slowing down and coming heavily accordingly we were changing our speed. Around 8 o'Clock we reached Sindhudurg. I was clicking some images with my camera from running car. It was very tough job to capture images from running object. Around 8.30 we reached Amboli Ghat.

Rain was heavy in Ghat section when rain slowed down, thick layer of fog flowed out. We were just able to see 10 meters ahead of our car that too in headlights. Driving was tough job in such conditions and photography is tougher than that. Actually I travel to capture photos but conditions were totally opposite. Fog and rains both were not giving me chance to click images. I was just able to see white waterfalls falling on the one side of the road from mountains and deep valley on another side of the road. We reached at main point of Amboli Ghat, we ate tasty omelette-bread there. By the time rain stopped and I took some really good photographs of main waterfall of Amboli Ghat. Then we moved to next point "Mahadev Tekdi" it was 4 to 5 Kms inside from main ghat road. “Mahadev Tekdi” point was built nicely with safety walls but even that point was on high mountains so lot of fog was there. We were able to here waterfalls sounds but unable to see it because of fog. Even on that point I unable to capture images.

Then we decided to take some rest. We had our lunch took some rest but scenes were not getting cleared because of fog. After waiting for ample of time we decided to leave from there to head towards home. When we started our return journey I captured video of the road, cars and people hidden in fog. In return when we reached again on main waterfall by that time atmosphere got little cleared from heavy fog. Now views were little better; so, we took that chance, we stopped at good points and I clicked some fantastic photographs. We reached Ghat end by 5 PM. After that I took again some snaps and videos of beautiful nature from my camera Nikon L-820. By 7 PM we reached back at home in Madgao.

Amboli Ghat

Visit to Amboli was awesome experience. I captured good landscape and waterfalls photographs with my Nikon coolpix L-820 camera. I enjoyed drive in this ghat. Fog and rain was disturbing photography but feeling that was created by overall atmosphere and nature was mind blowing. This is the "travel story" of one of the destinations I want to explore.

Explored Konkan With My Nikon L-820 Camera : Travel Story

travel with your camera
Konkan just fascinated me to write on its nature. Few days back Konkan is announced as one of the world's heritage places and I will say, it is one of the best tourist places we got in India. Fantastic views which gives amazing feelings from eyes to heart.

Actually in rainy season Konkan turns into heaven. Konkan has beautiful beaches at one side and western ghats on another side. In rains Konkan becomes house of nature's beauty. I have experienced it in my Mumbai to Goa train journey. I travelled form Mumbai to Goa on 14th Aug 2013. Knowingly I chose day travelling, it is 10 to 12 hrs run and people prefer night train for this travelling. I chose day because I was aware of Konkan beauty in rains. I want to see and capture this nature's treasure in my camera. I always say that "Travel With Your Camera". Early morning I started my journey from Thane. Thane to Panvel it took one hour. At Panvel concrete jungle ends from there real green nature started.

Here I will try to describe beauty of nature but I am sure I will fail short with words. Morning time, few rain clouds was there in the sky. Sun-rays were playing hide and seek game through clouds. Drizzle were coming touching the earth and going back. There were various types of trees, grass and various coloured flowers. Green leaves with many water drops on it, sunlight was reflecting from that water drops; it was like glittering green diamonds. Mountains were looking cool wearing green blazers. As I Travelled from train route, it gave me more beautiful view of nature, there were lot of tunnels on the Konkan railway rout after every tunnel there was valley, every valley having either small water stream or water-fall. Konkan is blessed with lot of rivers as well; so looking at powerful and heavy flow of rivers from the rail bridge was adventurous. In the whole journey I was standing at the train's door and enjoying capturing photographs. Some amazing landscape photographs I clicked.

I enjoyed my photography but more than that, it was like meditation. These views made me cool and calm. Konkan is really one of the beautiful places on this earth, green landscape, amazing mountains and some really strong forts. I will surely explore each and every place of Konkan in future. I will suggest everyone from Mumbai, Pune and Thane should explore konkan with their camera.

One Day Outing To Neral Near Mumbai With My Camera

One Day Outing To Neral Near Mumbai

Hello guys, today I am writing on my one day picnic to Neral near Mumbai– Friendship’s day and Gatari celebrations. It was awesome one day picnic with friends, photography and beer.

As decided, we met at Kalyan station at 7.30 in the Morning; we took the Karjat local train at 7.50. Local trains for Karjat and Khopoli are generally overcrowded on Sundays. Because of green nature and waterfalls occurs there in rainy season, lot of traveller groups, nature lovers and people who want to get wet goes there. We went for Neral but people can go to Vangani, Neral, Matheran, Bhivpuri Road, Karjat and Khopoli because these all places are fantastic spots for picnic and fall in same local train line.

We reached there by 8.40 AM. After reaching there we arranged our beer means bought it from a bar which is opposite to Railway station gate. We had planned to go to a small waterfall coz that is less risky and less crowded. We started walking towards our destination it was not too tough to reach there because one of us knew the road but it was almost 1.5 Km walk. We crossed running water, slippery stone and mud to reach our picnic spot.

After walking down and reaching our destination, I clicked some photos of waterfall and my friends, and then we enjoyed getting wet in fall. After that; party started beer with chicken samosa, chicken fried pieces and chicken lolypops. We were sitting in a water pond, having sips of chilled beer and chicken pieces just like pool party but this pool was natural in between green grass, plants and black stones. Again we were going in waterfall getting wet and coming back and sitting in natural water pool that was awesome enjoyment. In between all this I was clicking images of nature, landscapes and people. I enjoyed my landscape photography very much on that day. I ended up with having very nice images in my camera. I was with my Camera so I captured all the fun; that’s why I advise you all to travel with your Camera.

After this we came back from same route first walk to station and then local train. Back to home in evening around 6PM then took rest.

Just want to tell people that we didn’t broke beer bottles on spot, we didn’t throw any garbage anywhere, we didn’t make mess at the area we visited. We enjoyed with beer but we didn’t get drunk. So it just humble request to people and visitors, please even you don’t do this.

Start Learning Photography With Selecting Right Camera

Selecting Right Camera

It’s Time to write again on camera work. This time I am writing on selecting right camera for new learners or beginners of photography. Choosing right camera for taking photos is essential when you are starting to learn photography.

This is basic step in learning photography but if your base is strong then your further studies will be easy. First suggestion is try to use basic level cameras when you are beginner in photography. Don’t go for higher end cameras at the start of taking photographs.

Think on simple logic, no one can use advance machine directly if he is not having experience on basic machine. Like that camera is also one machine. First you need to understand, what differences between basic level and advance level cameras are? Basic level camera is point shoot or advanced point shoot cameras which any beginner can handle with the help of its manual. Advanced camera includes DSLR cameras, these cameras come with more advance technology, so they are difficult to handle for new learners of taking photos.

I am not going in deep technology here but I will give you brief difference between these cameras. The main difference between advance point shoot camera and DSLR camera is lenses; DSLR camera has interchangeable lenses where as advance point shoot cameras have fixed lens. DSLR camera has external flash units. Key difference between these two cameras is what photographer sees when he frames the shot. With a digital SLR, the photographer can view the image directly through the lens, thanks to a series of prisms and mirrors that reflect the lens image back to the viewfinder. A point and shoot camera's viewfinder is offset from the lens, meaning the viewfinder image and the lens image don't exactly match.

Now you must have got fundamental difference between initial level camera and advance camera. Start with basic camera (advance point shoot camera) then with experience and your knowledge of capturing photos, move to advance one (digital SLR camera). So, now you have to choose which one is better for you. But never forget at start selecting right camera is crucial step.

Basic Concepts of Photography - Travel Photographer

basic concepts of photography

Photography is a huge and diverse topic to write on. Photography is not just clicking pictures; a photographer should also know how to convey his message or his views to the viewers through his photographs. Photographs can be taken of anything but before that the photographer needs to understand the hidden truth, beauty or message about that thing.

In this blog I just want to write on basic concepts of photography. A photographer should have a creative vision. He might not find beauty everywhere but he should have a vision to make anything beautiful, which can be done only by a creative mind.

It is not necessary that a photographer will always capture amazing nature, beautiful people or incredible world in his camera. He might capture normal reality in his camera. For example sometimes picture of an aged, wrinkled face might talk more than an attractive and beautiful young face.

Every picture has a primary and a secondary part. Things which are well focused and are at the center of that picture are primary parts and things which are behind or a little out of focus are secondary part of photograph. A complete picture always conveys some message.

A picture has its own dimensions, values, importance and message. If you can understand the message of a picture, you can understand views and art of the photographer.

Every photographer writes description about his captured images. Whenever you are viewing his piece of creativity, don’t just see the pictures, read the description as well so that you can easily understand his photographs.
